Our client is looking for an experienced buyer with previous experience in the meat/fish industry.
Our client is a well-established catering business based in Irlam.
Main responsibilities:
Identifying the right suppliers for the right products
Build, manage and maintain good professional relationships with suppliers
Creating and agreeing product range
Negotiating costs, credit terms and delivery schedules in line with production specifications and technical policies
Working with planners to forecast demand and production plans
You will lead a team of up to 4 people
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:
Experience buying meat and/or fish
IT literate (confident using MS Office and experience of ERP)
Good verbal and written communication
Ability to work both independently and as a team to develop good working relationships colleagues at all levels
Experience working within FMCG is desirable
Good understanding of manufacturing processes
Experience managing a small team is desirable.
